Mapping Significant Areas in Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park  <<<< Click this link to view my map I really enjoyed this assignment and playing with the mapping tools. I found MyMaps super easy to navigate. The tools were very easy to use and editing the layers and making adjustments to my map were extremely simple. Overall, I rate MyMaps 8/10. I will most definitely be using this mapping system for future road trips! I also love how you can make the map public and allow others to edit your creation or just view your work.  I have also attached a screenshot of my map:

Biodiversity Importance

Biodiversity is extremely important on all levels: locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Biodiversity is what keeps an ecosystem flowing properly, without diverse flora and fauna the earth wouldn't function sufficiently. All life on Earth has a duty to fulfill: plants, for example, without a variety of plants certain animals wouldn't have a food supply, photosynthesis wouldn't occur, soil erosion would be an issue, particular habitats wouldn't exists. The same concept applies for animals: when a certain species goes extinct, that creates a break in the cycle. For example, if bird populations decline, that increases the insect population, which can be a major problem. On the other end of the chain, the animals that eat birds will fall off and decline because they no longer have a required food source.      T he international level can be quite concerning and important to maintain. Biodiversity is essential for all levels, but the international level

Biodiversity Definition

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park has a wide variety of biodiversity and geological features. This park is a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot. Most of Yellowstone resides in Wyoming, but somewhat spreads into Idaho and Montana as well. I visited Yellowstone a few years ago and was blown away. We were there for a couple days, and were still unable to see half of the amazing features the park has to offer. I found this park to be absolutely beautiful and so unique, which is why I'm choosing it for this project. I want to learn more about Yellowstone because I plan to revisit there one day. This park offers a variety of activities and site-seeing opportunities: waterfalls, dramatic canyons, rivers, forests, hot springs, and a variety of wildlife (bison, elk, bears, antelope, etc.).   My goal is to visit as many National Parks as possible. So far, Yellowstone has been my favorite, which is why I am choosing this park for the project. Hopefully, by learn
